Hi, I’m Rachel!

I’m a designer and artist from Northern Ireland. One of my favourite things to do is work in pen and ink to draw buildings that have a special meaning for you.

Whether it’s your childhood home, your wedding venue or your university building, I know that these places are so much more than bricks and mortar; they’re full of meaning because they’re part of your story, and when you share a little bit of that story with me, that’s something I don’t take for granted.

Why buildings though?

I fell in love with drawing buildings over ten years ago when I was studying Architecture in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

We used to walk the streets sketching everything in sight - some quick and rough, some detailed and intricate, but I loved all of it. From then, a sketchbook often made it into my suitcase as a travel companion!

I took a pause from drawing until a few years ago, when my car broke down and I found myself stuck in the house with nothing to do. (And no, cleaning wasn’t an attractive option!) So I got the pens out and started drawing my brother's house as a house-warming gift. He had spent months gutting and renovating his 1930’s house into the most beautiful home for his family and I wanted to give him a gift that he could look back on for years to come; a memory of those painting parties, late nights and the undeniable first-time-buyer satisfaction. The drawing got a better reaction than I was expecting, so I started doing some more for friends and family and it's grown from there!
